2025 FIDE World Rapid & Blitz Championships: Registration Now Open
The year is ending with a bang in the chess world. One of the biggest and most thrilling events is back — the 2025 FIDE World Rapid & Blitz Championships.
From December 25 to 31, top players from around the globe will gather in Doha, Qatar. The event features fast time controls, elite competition, and a massive €1 million prize fund. Registration is officially open, and FIDE welcomes all eligible players to join.

Who Can Play?
You are eligible if:

You have a FIDE rating of 2550+ (Open) or 2250+ (Women) in Standard, Rapid, or Blitz

You are a reigning national champion

You receive a nomination from the FIDE President or the organiser
