Apply Now: 2026 Freedom Asian Chess Initiatives (FACI)
The Kazakhstan Chess Federation has opened applications for the Freedom Asian Chess Initiatives (FACI) 2026.
FACI is an international chess project supported by Freedom Holding Corp., in partnership with FIDE and the Asian Chess Federation (ACF). The project aims to grow chess worldwide by:
-
Strengthening national chess federations
-
Improving chess education
-
Promoting international cooperation
In 2025, FACI helped seven countries: Oman, Cambodia, Nepal, Tajikistan, Sri Lanka, Jordan, and Pakistan. These countries achieved impressive results, including prize-winning performances at international tournaments. Some also received grants to participate in the FIDE World Cadet Chess Championships in Almaty, giving young players a chance to compete at the highest level.
A major highlight of FACI is the training camps for national teams, led by top coaches from Kazakhstan. National chess federations interested in joining FACI 2026 can submit their applications on the official website: faci.kazchess.kz.
Deadline: January 12, 2026, 12:00 PM Astana time (UTC+5). Applications will be reviewed following the FACI Project Regulations. Selected federations will be announced in early February 2026. Federations that participated in 2025 are welcome to apply again for 2026. Decisions will be made by the FACI Working Group and the President of the Kazakhstan Chess Federation.
For more information, please review the FACI Project Regulations on the official website or watch our project video.
