FIDE World Cadet & Youth Rapid & Blitz Championship 2025
The FIDE World Cadet & Youth Rapid & Blitz Chess Championship 2025 has officially started in the beautiful city of Rhodes, Greece. The event is organized by FIDE and the Hellenic Chess Federation and is being held at the Palace Hotel.
More than 430 young chess players from 48 countries are competing in this exciting event. Among them are 64 titled players, showcasing a high level of talent and competition.
The championship includes two main events — Rapid and Blitz. Both formats follow the Swiss system, with 11 rounds of intense games. The rapid games will take place over three days, while the blitz section will happen over two days.
One of the highlights of this year’s event is the youngest participant — 6-year-old Hangeldi Muradov from Turkmenistan, with a rating of 1479. That’s true chess dedication at such a young age!
