FIDE World Youth Chess Championships 2025: Registration Deadline Nears
The FIDE World Youth Chess Championships 2025 are coming soon! The event will take place in Durrës, Albania, from October 3 (arrival) to October 16 (departure). FIDE and the Albanian Chess Federation warmly invite all national chess federations to take part.
Players will compete in three age categories: Under 14, Under 16, and Under 18. Each has an Open section and a Girls section.
Every national federation can register one official player in each category. That means six official players in total. Each federation can also send one accompanying person, as long as they have a valid FIDE ID. These official players and the accompanying person will be invited by the organizers.
In addition, special players get the right to participate:
– Those who finished in the top 3 of the 2024 FIDE World Youth Chess Championships (U14, U16, U18)
– Gold medalists of the most recent Continental Youth Championships
These players can take part in their own or a higher age category.
