Join the Global Celebration of Women and Girls in Chess!
March is a special month to celebrate women and girls in chess. Last year, the first global Chess Women’s Day Celebration was a huge success. This year, the FIDE Commission for Women’s Chess invites chess federations, clubs, schools, and organizers worldwide to take part again. The celebration will run throughout March under the theme “Visible, Connected, Worldwide.”
This theme has an important message. It focuses on making women and girls more visible in chess. It also aims to connect chess communities across different countries. Many amazing chess projects for women are happening around the world. This celebration brings them together on one global platform. Every event matters. When we work together, we make a bigger impact.
Are you planning a chess event in March? If yes, you can be part of this global movement. Your event could be a chess tournament, a workshop, a lecture, a simultaneous exhibition, or a friendly chess meet-up. Both mixed and women-only events are welcome.
By joining this initiative, your event becomes part of a worldwide chess network. Players, coaches, and organizers from different countries will be connected through chess. The beauty of this celebration is its diversity. Many events. Many voices. One shared mission.
Last year showed how powerful this movement can be. This year, the goal is to make it even bigger and more inspiring. Together, we can encourage more girls to play chess.
How you can participate:
-
Organize a chess event celebrating women and girls
-
Share your event details with FIDE
-
Tag their official social media pages
-
Join global activities that promote women in chess
-
Contact the organizers to become part of the celebration
This initiative helps increase visibility for women in chess. It also builds stronger connections between chess communities worldwide. Most importantly, it inspires young girls to take up chess and stay in the game.
