April shook up the FIDE Circuit 2025 leaderboard! As many fans predicted, Praggnanandhaa Takes the Lead.  Praggnanandhaa moved ahead of Ding Liren to grab the number one spot. His strong performance at the GCT Superbet Rapid & Blitz Poland, where he finished third, earned him 8.44 valuable circuit points.

Vladimir Fedoseev won the event and scored 13.26 points. This big win pushed him straight into third place in the overall standings.

Praggnanandhaa Takes the Lead

In other news, the legendary Vasyl Ivanchuk climbed to fourth place after winning the Menorca Open. His victory earned him 12.67 points and pushed Aravindh Chithambaram down to fifth place.

Lu Shanglei, who finished second in Menorca, is now sitting in eighth place. Parham Maghsoodloo also made a strong move—his win at the Reykjavik Open gave him 11.16 points, placing him in the top ten.

Praggnanandhaa Takes the Lead

Just outside the top ten are Nodirbek Abdusattorov and Ian Nepomniachtchi. Both have only played one tournament that counts toward the FIDE Circuit 2025 so far.
