World Cadets Cup U8–U12 Registration Officially Closed After Reaching Full Capacity

The registration for the World Cadets Cup U8–U12 has officially closed after reaching the maximum player limit. The tournament will take place from June 15 to June 28, 2026, in Batumi.

A total of 606 young chess players from 67 countries have successfully registered for the event. Due to the huge response, all available quotas have now been filled.

The registration deadline was April 15, 2026. FIDE has confirmed that no more entries will be accepted under the normal registration categories.

Important points announced by FIDE:

  • Players can no longer register under invited or personal right categories.
  • Requests for invited player spots sent after May 1 will not be considered.
  • No extra players can be added through the standard registration process.

However, in very special cases, the Organizing Committee may review additional requests submitted by national chess federations. If approved, all expenses must be fully covered by the respective federation according to tournament regulations.

The World Cadets Cup U8–U12 is one of the biggest events for young chess talents around the world. With hundreds of players participating, the competition is expected to showcase many future stars of chess.
