After nine days of Women’s World Cup chess battles, everyone finally got a chance to relax. Players, arbiters, and organizers enjoyed a much-needed break before the final rounds.

The Georgian Chess Federation hosted a cultural outing full of local charm and warm hospitality. It was a welcome change of pace from the tension of the tournament.

The event took place by the peaceful Kintrishi River in the scenic Kobuleti hills. The Riverside Restaurant offered a calm and beautiful setting, perfect for recharging.

Guests enjoyed a live cooking masterclass led by local chefs. Afterward, everyone tasted delicious Georgian dishes. These included fragrant Majuni rice, rich Iakhni beef stew, tasty pork and chicken Mtsvadi, and borano with cheese and egg.

Even a bit of rain couldn’t stop the fun. The group of about 20 people celebrated with music, dancing, and laughter. A chess-themed cake surprised everyone and made the day even more special.

It was an afternoon filled with joy, friendship, and Georgian culture. Moments like these remind us that chess is not only about competition but also about connection and celebration.
