Ding Liren leads Praggnanandhaa remains at the top of the FIDE Circuit 2025 with 40.64 points. However, his lead is now under threat as competitors are catching up.

Ding Liren leads Praggnanandhaa – Praggnanandhaa Gains Ground 
Praggnanandhaa R earned 11.06 points after tying for second place in the Prague International Chess Festival 2025 – Masters. This brings him just 4.5 points behind Ding Liren.

New Names in the Top Ten
February saw six tournaments contribute to the FIDE Circuit rankings, introducing new players into the top ten standings.

Ding Liren leads Praggnanandhaa

  • Aravindh Chithambaram won the Prague International Chess Festival 2025 – Masters, moving to third place.
  • Marc’Andria Maurizzi won the Djerba International Masters, gaining 16.04 points. His third-place finish in the Prague International Chess Festival 2025 – Challengers added 5.88 more, placing him fifth overall.
  • Ian Nepomniachtchi dominated the Aeroflot Open, earning 18 points and climbing to seventh place.

Other Top Competitors
Anish Giri and Wei Yi, who shared second place with Praggnanandhaa in Prague, each collected 11.06 points, securing their spots in the top ten.

Just outside the top ten are:

  • Nodirbek Yakubboev, winner of the Prague Challengers event
  • Aydin Suleymanli
  • Mukhiddin Madaminov, who shocked the chess world by winning the Al-Beruniy Masters
  • Daniel Dardha
  • Rauf Mamedov, the new Azerbaijani Champion
